I haven't install it. I think it's free. Because joomsocial is payable, and I don't integrate with it, because buy license only for integration I don't want

But I try to CB install and check database structures.

Can you a little explain what you want:
- see logged users and it's position on map
- see list of users and click to see where is he|she

And what info can save user in it's profile (can it save lat|lng) or something else.
Or may be you want that users by himselves click on map to create placemark for it's position (like today you can by create users placemarks in FrontEnd)

And etc...

CB it's free, only need registration.

in my case my user only put 3 informations from front end :

city, postal code and name (or alias)




in CB, i add 3 news fields for this.

You thinks it's possible ?

I think it possible in this case:
1
- create latitude and longitude fields
- in my component, like integration with contacts add radiogroup - integration with CB

- user have ability to enter it. For example, by open simple map with placemark, which can be dragged and see coordinates

- and you activate feature creating user placemarks (all registered users of you site can insert placemarks)
- add code in component, to update fields lat/lng in CB user table


Now I explain what I mean lat/lng not text address:
- for text address is needed to geocode when display (from text get lat/lng pair)
- in google maps api there is a restriction of use this - its about not more than 10-12 in one time, or you've got an error of geocoding. Therefore you can't see more then this number of placemarks without getting an error
- geocoding is time consuming
- lat/lng points into clear place where you want, geocoding - into place which chained with this address

I've installed CB, but not check it yet, because in this week I modify my Yandex Component (some people are waiting features)

i always this map, if i keep default mode, if i change size, only grey.
