Icons nearby Paths is that possible. was created by Rob
Hi,
I can put a gpx file in the paths and show it on the map, but I would like to show an icon next to the paths, for example walking or cycling.
So that visitors can see at a glance what kind of activity it.
Thanks in advance for your answer

Hi.
You can't automatically show placemarks near your path. You can manually display your placemarks near your route, based on category or group. Or assign your placemarks to map with this path

Hi Dima,
Sorry for your time but don't get it right. If I create a path and then I link it to a group with an icon, that does not work. Maybe I misunderstand. Is it possible to give an example. thanks in advance
greetings Rob

Hi Rob.
You can do that different ways.
Way#1 - each map contains all its data
1 - you can create map
2 - create path belonging to it
3 - create placemarks belonging to id
Display
Way#2 - reuse your data (for example placemarks)
1 - you can create map
2 - you can use exist path to display (by passing to call its IDs)
3 - you can use exist placemarks to display (by passing to call its IDs, or its category IDs, or its group IDs)
Display

Hi Dima,
Sorry but don't quite understand.
I am now trying something different, I have added an icon to the kml itself, that works, but I get the default (blue icon). How can I override this default icon. I have linked a group but unfortunately that does not work.

Hi
If you have direct link to your map, can you give me.
I don't understand you.
You have KML file and in it you have placemarks with icons.
When you display it by File layer by Paths, you will have correct icons only if you set layer type to "KML (internal parser)". In this case I parse this file and display all objects as is. If you user "KML" value, I use external library to display it, and it is not correct parse icons and display default leaflet icon (blue)
