Change the marker icon when using plugin

Hi,
I've been trying to set a custom marker image while using the following setup:
- we use an automated way to add markers into 1 map to show an overview of locations
- then we use the plugin to show 1 marker in an article

Is it possible to change the marker icon for all the markers we use in articles without going into the component and change the marker manually ?
This is because this customer is not using the backend for different reasons

Yes. In table there is a field - icontype.
Write png image file name without extension. Just name.
