Toggeling overlay map types was created by Sigmund
Is it possible to set up the map so you can toggle different overlays (map types) on the same map. Only way i have been able to toggle custom map types is to create them as "map" type and not "overlay" type, but that removes the purpose of the overlay alltogether.

Hi.
If you set for your map type field "Layer Type" to "Overlay" - it will be displayed over your current map type.
And in this case you will see the main map tiles when you don't have your own.

As you can see
joomla.zhuk.cc/index.php/zhgooglemap-mai...e-nz-topomap-overlay
The main tiles fix empty space where you don't have custom map. Even you change map types.

And in this example
joomla.zhuk.cc/index.php/zhgooglemap-mai...m-feature-nz-topomap
Set map type to NZ Topo and you'll see only custom tiles

Yeah all this i know and it works perfectly, but what i want to do is to have several different overlays ontop of the map layer (base map), and then be able to toggle them on and off in the frontend, so they don't all show up at the same time.

Using KMLs and placemark groups i manage to get it working somehow, but would like it better to work for the overlay map types.

Today you have your custom map types in Map Type Selector.
Or do you mean today you can only show only one layer, but you want to have more than one on map?

Yes i mean i would like to have more than one layer on the map, and the possibility to toggle it on or off.
