Variable for Longitude and Latitude

Is there a global variable that holds the longitude and latitude so I can write back to the user record every time the user clicks on the browser to relocate position?

As for geocoding (get position by text address).
In map details (map controls tab) you can enable Feature in section "Map Find Control (geocoding)"
And set its position on map

You can also enable geolocation feature (click by button to show your current location). It is on Geolocation tab
