I don't think so.
I create my template for full screen, as you can see google's demos, you see map on whole page without anything else.
And for some reasons I create header and footer sections to add some modules into this positions, for example counters, copyright and something else. And it is flexible.
I think you can publish Custom HTML module into header section, and add img tag for your logo and add any css styling.
Dear DIMA. If you see maps.isoladelgiglio.com you notice that elements are floating around the windows corners but not outside the map. The map remains full screen. I whould liked to had the same with footer or header controls. But if it is not possible it is still great to use your component. Thanks.
But in my template there are "top", "content" and "bottom" sections.
And if you add Custom HTML module, and specify "Module Class Suffix" for your module, you can get personal css class for your module, and define position for your module over the map by css absolute position.
If I right remember, I don't load modules into this position, I use it only for map. But I can mistake, I should check code.
If you explain about google's ad sence, or pick me to doc, I think I can add this feature to my extensions
