Hide centering placemark from map

What type of extension do you use: component, module, plugin.

Where you want to use feature - hide placemarks?

I have some ideas, but didn't decided yet way of implementation.

Answer me, and I'll try to do it more easy to use.

If you go to the paragraph "Habitat and distribution", you can find a link to the map. I am using there a placemark with no actual image (I deleted the png via FTP). It works, but it is surely not a good solution.
