OpenStreemap ?

Hi Dima,
We already spoke together about the new Google policy for the map as they are going to make a lot more money with the Googlemap Api.

I have several person asking me if ZHGM will allow to do the same thing with OpenStreetMap...
So far, as this is not the same engine, i answer no and tell them to use "Phoca maps"...

Now, i have a simple question : do you plan to have the possibility to use OpenStreetmap like Googlemap ? Note : i don't speak about the "OpenStreetmap layer" but really about a easy way to integrate like we can do with ZHGM (i know i can create easily an iframe with OSMap in .

I think if Google will change using its API to wrong way , I mean it will be useless, then I'll create new one extension with for example Leaflet

I am sorry for interrupting in this topic.
I was searching for an alternative Google Maps extension for Joomla! after using Reumertech for a couple of years.
At the JED I found zhGoogle Maps.
I hoped this extension would run without the new Google Maps API via a billing account.
But of course that is not possible by the strong rules of Google:angry:

In this topic of Xavier you wrote about a new extension which is using Leaflet.
Sounds realy great. Open Street Map of Leaflet are the new sources for free maps, I think.
And you are right. It is a very stupid move Google did in june this year.

If you can create a new extension, I realy like to pay or donate for it. zhGoogleMaps is realy great, so I think the new extension will be the same.

Can you let us know when you think you have a new extension ready?

This week I really busy and can't do any changes or creation.
As for my Google Maps extension - I started adding managing placemarks and paths by zoom, but took a pause due to busy at work.
I think I will take more delay to do it, because I really don't understand Google and I get 3 messages only on this week about breaking limits and incorrect work on users sites.

I decided on next week start development of new extension. And for quick development and publishing in JED I want on next week create simple
component+plugin+module=package
which will only display map and simple makers.
And post to JED, because it takes 2-3 weeks when it's appear for public.

I also add this project to my transifex dashboard to have translation.

Moreover, if you want - I could mail you temporary developed extension for testing.

By reading my main site zhuk.cc you can get news when I will do it.
